This Diploma introduces students to the fundamental skills needed in the social work profession, providing an understanding of the role and function of social services, plus the role and responsibilities of social workers. There are also opportunities for students to increase their knowledge of psychology, social policy and sociology.

To ensure this Diploma meets our AVA policies and priorities for new provision, Skills and Education Group Access has worked with curriculum specialists and business development managers to coordinate and oversee the development of the Diploma, including meeting to agree curriculum content, level, grading descriptors and general rules of combination.
