A former Access student at Rotherham College (part of RNN Group, a Skills and Education Group Access Centre) has progressed to University Centre Rotherham after successfully completing her Access to HE Diploma.

Caroline studied the Access to HE Diploma in Art and Design, and is now studying a degree in Fine Art.

Speaking about her experience of studying the Diploma, Caroline said: “This course has given me the confidence to go on to start a degree in Fine Art. I came back to college as a mature student after spending many years working in the community. Rotherham College has given me a chance to grow as a person and develop as an artist.

“I loved my time at Rotherham College. I don’t find studying easy, but I have had the help and encouragement I didn’t get when I was younger. It was a great course, hard at times, but the teachers were great and were always there to support and encourage me. Thanks to all at the College.

“I am now looking forward to working hard on my degree and starting a business selling my own work. I will hopefully give back to the local community along the way too.”

Daniel Stanbra (Director of Adult Education and Contracts at RNN Group), has one of Caroline’s abstract paintings on the wall in his office at the college, and highlighted her work on LinkedIn.

In the LinkedIn post, Daniel said:

“Caroline is a fantastic showcase for the talent that RNN Group nurtures, and her story highlights the success of one of our adult learners in following their dreams. It’s never too late for any of us!”
